Pizza, Pasta & Amore

We don’t have to tell anyone here that Italy is one of the most delicious destinations. However, the location between the Mediterranean Sea and the Apennine Mountains makes Abruzzo in particular ideal for agriculture and fishing.

Fish dishes

Fresh from the sea, refined, fantastic. From fried seafood to scallops and grilled scampi, the regional cuisine offers all kinds of tasty dishes.

Meat dishes

Varied meat dishes are provided by different types of meat, such as lamb or beef from own slaughtering of local farms. In addition to the roasted and braised meat dishes, the local ham and sausage specialities, which are eaten as a starter or main meal, are particularly popular.

Irresistible Arrosticini

The delicious mixture of meat and fat from castrated sheep is threaded in small pieces onto a bamboo skewer and grilled with charcoal.

Cooking courses

The genuine Italian mamma Annabella and her daughter Rosaria give courses near Pescara. Star chef Ezio Gentile, on the other hand, teaches in the small medieval town of Prezza in the mountains near L’Aquila.

Pasta dishes

Typical of the region is Pasta alla Chitarra, which translates as guitar. The name derives from the frame with parallel clamped wires with which the pasta variety is traditionally made.

Edible confetti

Sulmona is the capital of candied almonds, known locally as confetti. These are covered with a colourful icing, the list of flavours being endless

vine & Co.

Between rugged cliffs and gentle hills, a few ambitious winegrowers hold their own and produce characterful drops in small but fine quantities. Limestone, clay, sand and gravel soils produce unique wines from traditional grape varieties, such as the following wines:

Montepulciano (red)

The intense ruby red with violet reflections of the Montepulciano grape turns to garnet red with increasing maturity. The scent of red fruits paired with an intense spiciness enters your nose before you raise the glass to your mouth and enjoy the full, harmonious taste of this red wine

Trebbiano (white)

Trebbiano is a white wine variety. It has been cultivated in Italy since time immemorial. It tastes of apple, pear, lemon peel and melon. It also has aromas of almond, walnut, pine branch and sage.

Cerasuolo (rosè)

The Cerasuolo is made from red grapes when aged as a rosé wine. Brilliant cherry red, pleasantly fruity bouquet, notes of Cerasa cherry and strawberry. The taste is balanced, soft and fragrant.
